BorderCue is an offline planning tool for document expiries, per-entry stay limits, and rolling windows such as Schengen 90/180. You enter your own documents, rules, and trips; the app calculates calendar days and can simulate a future trip before you save it.
BorderCue is not a government service, immigration adviser, or source of official entry rules. Requirements can change and may depend on your personal circumstances. Always confirm important travel decisions with the relevant government, border, embassy, or consular authority.
2Getting started
On first launch you can add a document, continue with an empty dashboard, or load the built-in example. The example is local sample data and can be removed with Delete all. For Schengen, choose the built-in 90/180 preset; for other countries, enter the limit that applies to you.
Entry and exit days both count. An open current trip counts through today. Future plans are included only in calculations that use them.
3Backups and moving to another device
Open Settings and choose Export backup to create a JSON file. Store it somewhere you trust. On the other device, choose Import backup and select that file. Import replaces the current BorderCue data after you review the preview; it does not merge two travel histories.
The Free version supports the current Free document limit. Restoring a backup with more documents requires the lifetime Pro unlock. Keep a separate copy of an important export before replacing or deleting data.
4Reminders are not appearing
Check that notifications are enabled for BorderCue in iOS Settings and that the relevant document has reminders enabled. Reminders are scheduled locally, so changes to dates, rules, notification permission, time zone, or device time can cause the schedule to be rebuilt. The app schedules reminders up to one year ahead. You should still check important deadlines directly in the app.
5Widgets and App Shortcuts
Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and App Shortcuts require Pro. Open BorderCue after editing data or restoring Pro so the shared snapshot can be refreshed. If a widget still looks stale, open the app once, wait briefly, then return to the Home or Lock Screen. Widget visibility and redaction are also controlled by iOS privacy settings.
6Buying or restoring Pro
Pro is a one-time App Store purchase. It unlocks unlimited documents, widgets, and App Shortcuts. The price shown in the app comes from Apple. If you already purchased Pro with the same Apple Account, use Restore Purchases in Settings or on the purchase screen. Apple handles billing, refunds, and purchase history; we cannot view or change your payment details.
7Privacy and deleting data
There is no BorderCue account or developer cloud. Your travel data stays on your device unless you deliberately export a backup. You can delete individual records, use Delete all, or uninstall the app. Exported files and Apple device or iCloud backups must be managed separately. Read the full Privacy Policy.
8If the app cannot open its data
BorderCue will not show calculations when it cannot safely open or validate its local data. If you see the recovery screen, make sure the device has free storage, restart the app, and try again. The screen does not erase your data. If it persists, contact support before reinstalling so we can help choose the safest next step.

Email [email protected]. Please include your iPhone model, iOS version, BorderCue version, selected app language, and the steps that reproduce the problem. Screenshots are useful, but redact passport numbers, notes, and travel details you do not want to share. We will never ask for your Apple Account password, payment card number, or device passcode.
